A Study on the Physical Constitution of High School Students, Their Rhythm of Living, and Their Subjective Health


Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between the physical constitution of high school students and the food they take, their rhythm of living, and their subjective health.
The taste for the main dish which is fundamental to one¢¥s living, the standard for the choice of the meq 1, the frequency of eating in a day, the punctuality or regularity which is basic to the rhythmic life.
The establishment of one¢¥s rhythm of living and the subjective health are all studied and analyzed.
1. Most of the high school students under this survey, whether they are male or female, prefer cooked rice, no matter what kinds of physical constitutions they have.
2. Most of the male students choose any dish `without any special consideration, while most of the female students select their favorite dish according to their taste.
3. In the frequency of eating between meals, there is a closely correlation between obesity and eating between meals.
4. Concerning the midnight meals, the obesity is the highest in case of male students.
5. Concerning the subjective health condition, 23.3 %of the male students (70/300 students) think they arevery health¢¥ 60 % of them (179/300) think they are normal¢¥, 16.7 % (51/300) consider themselves not health¢¥; while 11.6 % of the female students (37/320) think they are very healthy¢¥, 65 %of them (209/320) think they are `normal¢¥, and 23.1 % of them (74/320) think they are `not healthy¢¥.
6. There is closely relationship between the regularity of one¢¥s rhythm of living and subjective health condition.
7. The order of the disirability for the rhythm of living among the 2 items (a sleep, defecation) is 1) the health, 2) the normal, and 3) the unhealthy.
8. There exists a closely relationship between the regular meal and the subjective health.
